Read full description of the books:
As readers we are all burdened with bad book recommendations. The moment someone discovers you are a book-lover they instantly assume you enjoy the same books they do.
I know you ALL have experienced this. Friends, family, neighbors will recommend a book to you and then hound you until you have read it. "Did you read that book yet?" "did you, did you, did you??" Now, most of the time, as human beings we try to spare the feelings of the recommender by not screaming "No! I would never waste valueable reading time on something so inane and pointless."
As the recommendee we are left with few choices: 1. Cutting off all contact with said recommender and never ever speak to them again (may not be an option if they are family members), 2. LIE "I loved it! What a fabulous read! You, my friend, know me so well to choose such an extraordinary book." or 3. Actually read the drivel.
You can see which road I chose on this book. What sacrifices we all make for those we love.
As a book snob this is my albatross.
